In this short feature I filmed and edited, Navajo artist Baje Whitethorne Sr. shares powerful reflections on his upbringing in the Navajo Nation and how the landscapes, stories, and traditions of his childhood continue to shape and inspire his art. From vivid color palettes to storytelling through brushstrokes, his work is a celebration of culture, memory, and identity.
The Spark
“The Spark” is a video series produced by The Lumberjack, the student-run newspaper at Northern Arizona University. This series delves into the creative journeys of NAU students, offering an intimate look at their artistic processes and the inspirations that fuel their work. Each episode features a student artist sharing their story, providing viewers with a glimpse into the diverse and vibrant art scene within the university community.
